I'd like my screensaver (ElectricSheep) to run over small wmv videos (the opposite of what everyone wants !)
As MP4 videos don't run in Windows 10, I have been using the small wmv (Windows Media Video) format to attach to my Winamp skins (yes, I still use Winamp and love it). These videos can be very small, just like small MP4 videos. I have Windows 7 with Winamp and MP4 videos, all my screensavers run happily over the skins and their videos. In Windows 10: the Winamp skins and their visualizations, with NO VIDEOS, DO NOT prevent my screensavers from running like crazy, including the beautiful ElectricSheep. However, if i click "video" on the skin, a small wmv video (that I've recorded with the music) will appear, and immediately turn off any screensaver !! I like to see both my desktop background, my skin, my visualization, and my screensaver that I've usually set to start 4 or 5 minutes after a mouse or keyboard movement. That's impossible in Windows 10 ! This happens in Firefox, Opera, Chrome and IE11 (I do not use Edge by principle).
Could anyone have a bright idea ?? Maybe there's a Firefox add-on that could solve this problem?? Well, another reason for me to miss Windows7... fortunately I haven't updated all my laptops to windows 10, which is for me the least pleasant OS ever since Windows XP ! (We will forget Windows 8!)
Thanks in advance for your help.
Stephen.

No, I am not clicking once the screensaver has started, I know that would make it stop. I had a hunch that the problem might be Winamp, I am a member of the Winamp forums, but they couldn't find a solution. I think it's a Windows 10 problem, because I have here a laptop running Windows 7 SP1 and another one running Windows 10(April 2018 Update), but this started long before this update. Same mp4 video file (image & sound perfect) same screensaver, same screensaver settings. On Windows 7, the screensaver starts as expected after 3 minutes (sound is perfect), on Windows 10... it never starts. However, if I run a mp4 audio file on Windows 10, the screensaver will start normally... so I conclude that it is the VIDEO in the file that blocks the screensaver. I've tried many other types of audio files in Windows 10, my favourite screensaver 'ElectricSheep' (but also Bubbles & others) work fine, but as soon as an audio and video file are combined, the screensaver doesn't start. None of this problem in Windows 7, my screensavers will run over downloaded You tube videos !!!
Anyway, thanks for trying to help ! Have a nice day !

It appears your issue is not related to Firefox, but instead to winamp. Also, if I'm reading that correctly, you are clicking after the screen saver started? If yes, that'd also disable it.

FF Browser isn't a O/S or screen saver program nor does it run Mp4 files. Your asking for help in the wrong forum. You need to post to a Windows help forum for this issue.

Mozilla support tells me they can't help me 'cause I'm barking up the wrong tree !! However, they don't tell me where to look for help, instead they suggest I help others !! I love Firefox (my favourite browser) and I support Mozilla regarding net neutrality, but the answer here is somewhat careless... they are more shrewd when time to ask for a donation has arrived !!

Hi, one just started other gives nothing more anytime. When does Winamp plan to get the website under construction finished ?
I can not help you either is that is beyond me what your doing. As we are all Volunteers here you will get various levels of experience. Suggest hang in there for someone that can help. Please message back so you get on the board again.
Hi !
It could be that Winamp will never be "finished" and will be completely abandoned by Radionomy, however I still use it daily for streaming internet radio stations or playing my you tube music videos unlawfully downloaded !! And I found the solution to my problem by comparing the settings of my Windows 7 laptop to those of my Windows 10 laptop. Here: on the Winamp skin on my desktop, I clicked "options", "Preferences", "Video", and unchecked "Disable Windows Screensaver while Playing Video" !! That's it ! Now, my screensavers start to run over videos ! For those who don't want a screensaver to run over their videos, they just have to do the reverse and check "Disable...." ! So simple ! Take care. S.
Hi, great news. Please mark your answer as the solution so others can find it.
However, I haven't been able to find how to play MP4 videos in Winamp with Windows 10, I think it's simply impossible, but I don't care as I have other video formats, such as WMV, etc... Also, I could try VLC, but I stick to Winamp because for over 15 years I've collected over 1,000 Classic skins, FULLY skinned, and I like to use them sometimes. Also, visualizations are important to me, in addition to Milkdrop and Morphyre, I have 3 of the best visualisations ever, from Soundspectrum: Whitecap, G-Force and the very best, Aeon !
