FF 61.0.2 64-bit continually circles tabs when opened

This happened on my W10 Home V1803 with the MS Update KB4343902 (Adobe Security Update) and KB4338832 (8/18 Cumulative Update) installed on 8/15.

I opened FF with a few tabs opening with it. FF 'flashed' each tab and circled through them... couldn't do anything but close it. Tried again and FF worked fine?

I don't recall making any changes or adding any extensions? Forgot about it (it happened 2 days ago).

Then my wife hit it on her PC (W10 Pro, same windows version and updates)? Had 4 or 5 tabs that open with FF... same result, closed it and it worked fine when re-opening? Odd?

Searched the web, can't find anything about this or close to it, and for sure nothing recent?

Looking at what is 'new' for FF 61, I see this:

=

Tab Warming: speedier response times are now available when switching between tabs because Firefox is preemptively loading tabs when you’re hovering over them.

=

Could that be involved? Timing just right depending where we had the mouse at a specific time?

I can't seem to reproduce the problem though and only happened once to me and once to my wife on different days and different tabs?

Are you using the colorful tabs extension?

We have seen reports that this extension causes issues with tabs getting selected randomly.

Thanks for the response.

"Are you using the colorful tabs extension?"

Hmm, yes, we both are.

Still, even though we have Automatic Update on for it, it was last update on July 23rd. Why would that be causing problems now?

If it were causing problems, wouldn't it always happen?

Clearly something changed, either in Windows, or it is hard to make happen since then?

Don't know why our PC's seem to be the only one seeing this? Ran Virus and Trojan checkers... all clean, and we both have Norton's Internet Security suite... We tend to d/l different stuff, if at all, and use the computers differently. Odds of us going somewhere and getting an infection (we're on a LAN behind a router) might be slim. However there is always a possibility of in this case me picking something up and it went over the LAN a few days later to wife's PC, but I think that too is a quite low possibility. Other than that one aberration for both of us I don't see any other hints of problems?

A forum search for "colorful%20tabs" comes up with two recent results with issues like you reported.

Yup, that is it, the first one after my post. I searched different wording... "Firefox jumps from tab to tab continually" and found nothing in this year...

Got to be Colorful Tabs... still want to use it though... if just closing and opening again I'll keep it. If it gets to be a pain, it is gone.

THANKS!!!
