Flash plugin doesn't seem to be able to save anything

I'm having trouble with the Flash plugin. The issue I'm listing below doesn't happen which I believe are also using the NPAPI (Safari), so I'm assuming it's a Firefox issue and not a flash issue.

Flash applications I view in Firefox don't seem to be able to access local storage. I get the prompt to allow storage (except when I've manually already allowed it), but when I reload the page, whatever I've saved (like a game, or some other info) is gone. Easiest way to reproduce for me is at this link: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html

When I visit it in Safari, I can change the value, reload the page, and the value is whatever I changed it to. With Firefox, when I reload the page it returns to the original value. I've tried deleting my Firefox profile, reinstalling Firefox, and reinstalling flash. If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it

Ok, so you probably need to be set up as always activated I would think :

Would not one of the sites you want to save from have the info ?

Use the Flash Storage Panel in your the Control Panel Applet or use it from the link you posted, which ever works for you.

Firefox will always show a Lego block icon on the location/address bar if there is Flash content on a web page. Flash is usually disabled by default as a safety feature.

Current Firefox releases have a setting to "Block dangerous and intrusive Flash content" that you can find if you click the "More" button of the Shockwave Flash plugin.

By any chance do you use automatic private browsing or block all cookies? I can imagine those settings affecting both local DOM storage and local Flash storage, although I haven't tested it myself.

Thanks for the suggestions.

@Pkshadow, unfortunately setting it so that I don't need to click to enable flash doesn't make a difference. Disabling the "Block Dangerous..." setting doesn't seem to make a help either

@jscher2000, nope my cookies are set to accept (even from 3rd party sites). Not using private browsing either

I think I can answer my own question. I tried a number of different versions of Firefox. 61.0.2 and older all worked correctly. I found this in the 62 release notes. Turning off the sandboxing in about:config seems to have fixed everything (except for the hours of my life that are gone!)
