MY problem no1: incoming mails cannot presents "å", "ä", or "ö" incorrectly with a lot of "#" and other symbols. I have several mail accounts, the problem - seems to me - appear at random? It used to function without a problem, cannot identify any major manipulations from my side in the near past. My problem no 2: (wether linked to problem 1 or not): Thunderbird seems to forget / drop -some- of my passwords to mail accounts. I have 6 accounts of which 1 is a pop (kind of no 1 account), the rest are IMAP + then several gmail-accounts that work fine!

It was soo smooth in the past 5 years and then now: "what a mess". Thank´s in advance for instructive problem-solving

do you have an anti virus scanning mail? Sometime they do a lot more than scan word would imply. Try turning it off.
