How do I migrate saved logins between Firefox versions?
Hi
I recently had to change computers. I was using an older Firefox version which was the highest it could go on my older Mac OS with version 48.0.2
On my new computer I am using version 62.0.3
Can I migrate my saved login information from my older version of Firefox? I have my old hard drive accessible, but I'm not sure how to find the login or point my newer version of Firefox to find the old saved logins.
Thanks

There are two way to do this. 1) Use sync using the old computer to save the current profile. Then add the new computer to the sync. If you plan to keep the old system, sync would allow you to share all data.
2) Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder.
Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.
Now Close Firefox. This is your current profile. Copy the folder As Is to a folder on a thumb drive. Then Copy the folder to the new system.
You need to copy logins.json and key3.db from the profile folder of the Firefox 48 version. You need to remove an existing key4.db in the Firefox 62 profile folder to make Firefox fallback to the key3.db key file.
- ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder in the Home directory is a hidden folder.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
