Firefox Developer Edition 65 beta won't work after updating to 65.0b5
Windows 10 Pro 1803 Firefox Developer Edition 65
After I updated Firefox Developer Edition 65 to beta 5, it stopped working. It was working with an earlier beta (I cannot remember the beta number but it should be beta 2 or so). When I start it, no window shows up. There are 2 processes in Task Manager. One is the main process and the other is a content process. I can kill the content process, but the main process refuses with the error Access Denied . The main process is constantly using ~10% CPU usage.
I uninstalled beta 5 and re-installed beta 6 from the setup file, tried Safe Mode, and also tried a new profile with no luck. I edited profile.ini and removed profiles for Developer Edition (leaving the one for the release version). A new profile was created upon startup and files were created in the folder, but no window showed up. So this doesn't seem an issue with profile.
The release version 64.0 is working perfectly on the same computer.
Is there anything else I can try?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.
- Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
- Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

Betas, by nature, are assumed unstable and meant for testing, so you may wish to file a bug report. However, they should launch and run normally, or nearly so. Is it possible that you have a security software which is blocking ff from executing fully? Have you tried running the installer as administrator?

Thank you crankygoat and cor-el for the ideas. Fx Dev Edition just worked fine in Windows Safe Mode. So this is likey due to the security software Traps from Palo Alto Networks. Unfortunately I cannot uninstall nor disable it due to the company policy. I hope future betas or release versions are not impacted.
Particularly if the release version of ff does not work, you may want to bring this to the attention of your administrator, so they may whitelist any ff channel download from Mozilla.
This is resolved now. 65.0 GA and 66.0 beta work fine.
