Firefox still slow after all these years

I still prefer Chrome partly for speed, but I still use Firefox for certain things, and it's still slow and under-responsive, as shown by it's sub-par frame rate (seems to be about 15 frames per second, whereas other apps are full 60).

I keep hearing from random people in real life and on the internet how fast it is now... but on a modern Windows or Mac, it still suffers from a sub-par frame rate and under-responsiviness.

The Brave browser runs as fast as Chrome, but is based on the same Chromium browser... I don't what they're doing different, or if Firefox needs video card acceleration or something like that (I'm not seeing how to determine this), but in this day and age it's really disconcerting that Firefox is still slow, and in fact runs slower than my Internet Explorer 11.

If you have problem addons or corrupted files this will contribute to more slowdowns. My firefox and Chrome, IE, Edge runs just the fast as each other when loading.

I have no add-ons nor extensions installed... and everything is working fine except for the frame rate in Firefox (meaning, slow). This is the same way on my work Mac and any other computer I try Firefox on. Are you saying Firefox has corrupted files installed by default? Maybe that's the answer.

If it is corrupted files, please explain how to correct this.

First backup any bookmarks then download the lastest firefox version matching your O/S version. Then uninstall all firefox and delete the mozilla folder. Then restart and reinstall the new firefox and then start firefox and see if problem persists.

Doesn't that delete passwords and all of my settings? I really need a solution that isn't oversimplified and causes new problems.
