Hi RJASeven, just in case you don't have enough advice already...

Is your old computer still up and running?

If you only care about bookmarks, it's not too bad. Firefox has two different file formats for bookmark transfers:

  • JSON, a dense, not very human-readable data structure that may preserve a few more details. You create the file using "Backup" and you restore the file using "Restore". Note: Restore completely replaces whatever is in the destination browser with the contents of the JSON file.

I suggest creating both formats "just in case."

Are both computers the same type of system? Win, Mac . . .

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder.

Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder

Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.

Now Close Firefox. This is your current profile. Copy the folder As Is to a folder on a thumb drive. Then Copy the folder to the new system.

You could also use sync.

Note that copying the full profile folder is not recommended. Best is to transfer only data you really need.
