I keep my Firefox updated as new updates come available. After last update Firefox has gone nuts ! I can not keep my bookmark folders and files arranged.

I have always been able for years to move and place all my bookmarks pages and folders as I want them to be for quick use when I need 1. I do alphabetically but also per the way I want them as I use and not totally alpha. Now I can no longer do any of this and it sorts in way it wants that is a pain in the A$$ for my needs now. How do we get it back the way it was before the last couple of updates when it went nuts ?

Can you explain where you're seeing these not in the order you expect? and how you're sorting them?

If possible, attach a screenshot (feel free to blank out parts).

I do the updates as they come available to keep Firefox current. I basically sorted alphabetically with least used number named folders on the bottom. I also sort my most used alphabetically used bookmark pages and folders pages at the top of the sorting per in demand most the way I want them as I use and may or may not be totally alpha sorted . Below those 1st alpha sorted bookmarks will be alpha sorted folders that I only occasionally use. Now I can no longer do any of this and it sorts in the way it wants that is a pain in the A$$ for my needs now. I need the previous sorting option back the way it had been for years before last update or 2 I had done. Past sorting for years had allowed me to sort all bookmarks where and how I wanted them sorted. That option is no longer available for some reason. Assist please in correcting this current sorting problem.

Please can you tell me where you are sorting these, and where they don't show correctly on the UI?

Are you going into Show All Bookmarks each time, and they're not right there, are you looking at the bookmarks menu, the toolbar, clicking a button on the toolbar?

I understand you're losing the sort order, but I need to know where on the various possible displays that you're losing it.

The Views menu only work (temporary) in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) and is similar to clicking on the header bar to sort by a specific column. Firefox can only sort folders permanently via the right-click context menu of a folder (Sort By Name).

In Firefox the choice to sort bookmarks is only available for folders and not for individual bookmarks. Easiest to sort by name is to do that in the left panel in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) and right-click the folder that you want to sort. Bookmarks are sorted between separators, so if you have folders and normal bookmarks then drag the folders to the top in the right pane and (temporarily) put a separator between the folders and the bookmarks. You can do the same in the Bookmarks sidebar (Ctrl+B). You can remove the separators after having done the sort if you do not want separators.
