I tried to upgrade from Thunderbird 60.8.0 to Thunderbird 68.0 (both 32-bit), but I lost my options and account(s) settings.
In Thunderbird 68.0 it seems that I would have to set all my email accounts manually. (I have 10 email accounts). Hence, I come back to Thunderbird 60.8.0. The question is how to install Thunderbird 68.0 preserving my options and accounts settings. I am using Windows 10 Pro 1903 64-bit, but 32-bit Thunderbird.

Thank you very much for your messages. I found the following answer at https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/68.0/releasenotes/ "Thunderbird version 68.0 is only offered as direct download from thunderbird.net and not as upgrade from Thunderbird version 60 or earlier. A future version 68.1 will provide updates from earlier versions." Hence I will wait for Thunderbird version 68.1.

Hello there Francesco Bernis
Move Thunderbird data to a new Thunderbird.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer
The release notes list new features, changes, and fixes. One of the major differences to Thunderbird 60.x is that add-ons may only work if the add-on developers have adapted them. Any add-on that has not been adapted will be disabled when you run Thunderbird 68.0.
!!(If the Thunderbird team would not have done anything at all, only WebExtensions would be supported by Thunderbird 68.0. All classic extensions would not work anymore and there would have been nothing that users could do to change that.)!!

I don't see how instructions for moving is helpful.
Start Thunderbird with -P option - is your (production) default profile properly shown?
thunderbird.exe -P
Thank you for using Thunderbird.

I have a related question. Before finding this forum, I made the mistake of upgrading a PC from Thunderbird version 52.2.1 to version 68.2.1 and was surprised to find I lost all my settings and e-mail accounts. According to the "Programs and Features" listing in Windows 10, my old Thunderbird 52.2.1 is still installed in addition to the new version. Where is the old version located? If I uninstall version 68.2.1, will the old version be restored with all my accounts and settings?

In case it's helpful to anyone else, I found the answer to my first question. My old version of Thunderbird is in Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird, and when I open that version, all my accounts and settings are fortunately still intact. (The new version was installed in Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird, so it didn't affect the old version.) I haven't yet tried uninstalling the new version, but I'm guessing that doing so should not affect my old version or its accounts and settings, although to be on the safe side I'll make a backup copy of my profile folder before doing so.
