Top Sites shows "incomplete..." for a Top Site tile but no tooltip to show me the rest of the name

My Top Sites works well if there is a short name under the tile or I recognize the thumbnail. In other cases I see something like "Websu..." as the title. Hover over that and I should see a tooltip with the long name completed.

Is it possible for Firefox to put tooltips for when the name ends in "...?"

Is there another work-around I can use -- create a thumbnail that better identifies the site is one that comes to mind. Rename the site with a shorter name?

Thank you.

Hello Linux_Mint_Firefox,

When you hover over the upper right corner of such tile, you'll see three dots. When you click on them, then click on 'Edit', and you can change the tilte to whatever you like.

Would you give it a try ?

Hi McCoy, Here is an update to what I have done here. I took this site's icon and edited the title to just "Support" because the .mozilla.org portion resulted in ... at the end. I have placed new thumbnails at 127.0.0.1 and let Apache2 serve them up, since I need to put a url there for the location of the thumbs. The pictures tell me what the site is if I can't place a descriptive title short enough to avoid the ellipsis. As opposed to serving up from my website at localhost, I didn't check to see if "file:///" would display the thumbs from their current file system location.

As an aside, I use the domain name www.moo.cow for my local site, registered through the "registrar" in the hosts file!

I am looking for a way to reduce the font size of the titles. I used to have an 18-inch widescreen and now a 27 inch widescreen monitor, so I don't need the large fonts. Made no difference when I went into preferences and reduced the size of displayed fonts for web pages, which setting is overridden to let web pages specify fonts and sizes. "YouTube" reads out as "YouTu..." at current size.

Need info on resizing the displayed font in Top Sites and I should be all cleaned up on this topic.

Also, please, some guidance on how to start a new topic here? I go through the "Need help" box and used to be at the bottom of the list was a place I could ask my question. I would check through the suggestions and then as needed ask a new question. I had a question about Thunderbird here I would like to get some guidance on.

Thank you!
