Using Firefox 79.0 on Windows 7 (I know, I'm migrating soon) and I'm running into the problem of Firefox being slow to respond and "hanging" for about ten seconds. Resource Monitor indicates that Firefox is using ~60% of physical memory despite only having 12 tabs (10 of them pinned) open. I have 13 extensions installed but the majority of them aren't in regular use. I have 36G of RAM installed.

This seems to start happening if Firefox has been open for a while, even if it isn't being used. I've even started using OneTap to dump saved tabs down and reduce the load but this doesn't seem to help. Closing Firefox down entirely and re-opening it does fix it for a time but it becomes a problem again after not too much longer.

Would appreciate some input.

MemTest LAST UPDATED : 27/09/2013 Could you please run a tool from http://memtest.org/ in order to check the integrity of your RAM?

You will need a thumb or disk drive to install it on.

Do you let Windows handle the page file or did you set a fixed size ? If you use a fixed size for the page file then try the former and let Windows handle the page file.
