Dear Sirs,

I have Thunderbird installed on my Windows 8 computer to send and receive emails. It stopped performing that function on 15th. September, and all efforts to find out why have not resulted in any success. Just by accident, on checking the updates section, which is set to automatic, I noticed that it had been upgraded on 15th September to v.78. I suspect that this upgrade has something to do with the cessation of service. I do not know if anybody else has had the same problem, or if the problem has been picked up by yourselves yet. The only reason I am able to write this email is because I have an old laptop running Outlook Express, and was able to use that to see the verification code in order to be able to write this email. Some of the old tech seems to be more reliable. Anyhow, if you do not yet have a fix, can you please tell me how to get back to the previous version of Thunderbird so that I can get my emails once again (without having to run two computers).

Thanks, in advance,

Bill Francis

You should check for solution with the settings on the new version of Thunderbird. Probably some settings were affected on migration so double-check them with the help page from your email service provider.

If you will like temporary to switch back you might follow these instructions for downgrade: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1304532#answer-1350402
