colored squares on browser pages
Today i turned on firefox running the latest ubuntu platform and had colored squares and dots all over the web pages. If I move the mouse or type the squares colored black, blue, aqua and green move with the mouse or typing all over the display like snow. I have gone over the troubleshooting steps, I have uninstalled and reloaded mozilla firefox. The only way I can stop this is to go to safe mode. I have downloaded two other browsers today and do not have this problem with the other two browsers, or with any of the software programs on the computer. Any ideas?

See this section and the page linked there: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode#w_the-problem-does-not-happen-in-safe-mode
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Options/Preferences -> General: Performance
remove checkmark: [ ] "Use recommended performance settings"
remove checkmark: [ ] "Use hardware acceleration when available" - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings
Close and restart Firefox after modifying the setting for changes to take effect.
Problem not solved.
The only add ons I can find are the english gb and english ca when those are off no problem. They were installed on the 25th of February and neither can be removed.
