I have been unable to get my emails from Thunderbird for several days. I enter my password and get and error message saying "Sending of password for user k1rm@sbcglobal.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded. Server error- please try again". I have deleted and reinstalled Thunderbird. I am using an Imac computer. Thanks!

Which password exactly are you entering, the app-specific password or the main password?

I'm not sure what your asking. I access Thunderbird and when I ask for my emails I get the message I sent earlier. I guess that would be app specific. Thank you

Check that you have the correct settings, create a secure mail key on the AT&T site, remove the passwords from Saved Passwords in TB Preferences/Privacy & Security, restart TB, enter the key when prompted for a password.

I'm still having the same problem. You are dealing with someone who is not very tech orientated. Create a secure key on the ATT site I don't understand.

The link I provided includes a link to a page with detailed instructions on creating secure mail keys.
