I didn't create my email accounts in the order I want them to appear, so I need to re-arrange them. Also, I'll be adding many more folders within each account (where message rules will organize the messages) and I'll want them in a particular order.

So far, I don't see any way to change the order of those folders or accounts. I tried searching in Support, but only found an outdated closed answer. How can I do that?

[sort folders addon] does not work for TB > v91

Thanks!

Nope, accounts are unmovable.

I thought you use TB version 91. TB91 supports drag and drop of accounts in account settings panel.

Yes, I'm using

   User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0

I tried it, but couldn't move them.

<CORRECTION> That was Firefox, Thundebird is at version: 78.13.0

got to account setting and drag the accounts up and down in that list. Apparently the changed order will be reflected in the main folder pane when you close the account settings, or it might be after a restart of Thunderbird. I have not really tested it, only read a little in the bug implementing it. Perhaps you could report if a restart is required.

No that doesn't work in Thunderbird version 78.13.0. In the account settings page the accounts can't be dragged and dropped. They are fixed to their location.

It's a new feature introduced in v91, so it doesn't work on previous versions and there's no plan to implement it in previous versions.

Okay, that said, how can I change it in 78.13.0?

With the help of an add-on like https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/manually-sort-folders/

I don't use it, so can't help you beyond pointing you to it. For further help with the add-on, visit https://github.com/protz/Manually-Sort-Folders/wiki
