how to flag mail as "READ" automatically
I have an account where I want to get mail, but I don't want to read it unless the subject looks interesting. How can I command ALL MAIL in an account to be automatically flagged at "READ"? That way, I don't get notified that mail is waiting. It's kind of annoying to remove that notification by manually commanding all those mail messages to be "READ". We're talking Mac Thunderbird 78.14.0.

Thank you! I had no idea that filters let you mark things as READ!
