Many sites record your IP address with your submission. However, this typically changes every time you move or change service providers so it might now be historical information that is difficult or impossible to connect to a real person.

This does not sound like an issue with Firefox. It will depend on the site and they will be able to help you better, but the site may link your comment to a user name that is openly displayed.
