Today when I opened Thunderbird I got this message "The account [edited email from public] @comcast.net is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." so I waited and waited. Only a few a today's messages were downloaded but several old messages were downloaded in duplicate. How do I fix this?

I am using TB with three Comcast.net mail address. Occasionally I, too, will see these types of anomalies getting my email. Many times it can just be that Comcast is screwed up and you just have to wait awhile until Comcast gets it straightened out.

Or you can delete the account from TB and re-add it (assuming you are using IMAP). That usually fixes most issues. Of course, to be safe, backup your TB profile before doing this.

This is just my opinion as a normal user. You may wait for someone knowledgeable about TB, if you you wish.

I have three Comcast email address that I'm accessing via Thunderbird. I, too, see these anomalies from time to time. Usually, it is the Comcast servers or the communication between them and TB that are messing up. If you just wait awhile it usually clears up on it's own.

But if you want, you can delete the account from Thunderbird (assuming you are using IMAP) and re-add it. That fixes most of these types of issues. If you are using IMAP, all of your messages will still be on the server. Of course, just to be safe, backup your profile before doing this.

I'm just a normal user of TB. You can to wait for a more definitive response for someone who knows more about TB, if you want.
