Text does not display correctly after updating to Ventura

more options

Yesterday, I updated to macOS Ventura and since then quite a few websites do not display text correctly in my Firefox desktop browser, including Mozilla interfaces (screenshots attached). I can copy these texts and paste them to some text editor file and I'll get a correct text. So it looks like only the graphical representation is affected. Also, bold and italic texts are always displayed correctly, h1 headings are not, h2 headings are... I browse on a MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021, Apple M1 Max, and I have the latest Firefox version installed.

You can check in Font Book for font issues like corrupted and duplicate fonts.

You can right-click and select "Inspect" to open the built-in Inspector with this element selected.

You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Fonts tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website.

Thank you for the tip with the Inspector. I realized that when I change the font size from 14 px to 15 px, the text displays correctly. Since I did this, the websites that previously showed a mangled paragraph font now display correctly.
