Don´t know if this rather for Bugzilla, but first time try it here, so I don't annoy the developers.

Tried 78.9.0esr in Yosemite and 102.7.0esr in Monterey - both same problem and both in case of termination with a cross just like as complete termination via the Terminate option from the dock context menu.

In 9 years it must be a known thing, so any ideas please?

I found a solution on the internet. It's uncomfortable, but it works.

You need to quit Firefox directly from the dock context menu or with the Comm+Q (Win+Q) keyboard shortcut, not with the cross key first. Then again, does Apple have some of that square wheel in the concept of quitting apps.

I'll report it to Bugzilla - after all.
