Firefox no longer displays ICONs, colors or selections correctly.
For the last several updates, Firefox does not display ICONs, colors or selections correctly. For instance, when using Microsoft 365 I get text boxes instead of ICONs, and online spreadsheets will not display colors. On my banking and insurance sites, selections do not show. Example, when I make a section and a dot should appear in the circle, nothing shows. There are issues like this with most websites. Even on this page, when I check E-mail me, nothing happens. Not sure how I can get replays.

Dear Greg Lamb,
Thank you for reaching out to the Firefox Support Forum. I understand that you are experiencing issues with Firefox not displaying icons, colors, and selections correctly after recent updates. I'm here to assist you with resolving this problem.
Based on your description, it seems that there may be a compatibility issue between Firefox and certain websites or applications, such as Microsoft 365, online spreadsheets, banking sites, and insurance sites. To help troubleshoot this issue, I recommend trying the following steps:
Clear the cache and cookies: Sometimes, accumulated cache and cookies can interfere with the proper rendering of websites. Clearing them can help resolve display issues. To do this, go to the Firefox menu, select "Options," then navigate to the "Privacy & Security" section. Under the "Cookies and Site Data" section, click on "Clear Data" and ensure that both checkboxes are selected. Click "Clear" to proceed.
Disable problematic extensions: Some Firefox extensions can interfere with website rendering. Try disabling any extensions you have installed and check if the display issues persist. You can do this by going to the Firefox menu, selecting "Add-ons," and then disabling the extensions one by one to identify the culprit.
Check for graphics driver updates: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the website of your computer manufacturer or the graphics card manufacturer to check for any available driver updates. Install the latest drivers if updates are available.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode: Starting Firefox in Safe Mode can help determine if the issue is caused by an extension or custom setting. To start in Safe Mode, click on the Firefox menu, select "Help," and choose "Restart with Add-ons Disabled." If the display issues are resolved in Safe Mode, it indicates that an extension or custom setting is causing the problem.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it would be helpful to provide additional information such as the specific version of Firefox you are using and any relevant error messages you may have encountered. This will assist our community members in troubleshooting further. Thank you for your patience, and we'll do our best to help you resolve this matter.

Hi Greg, hopefully you got subscribed to updates automatically.
One possible reason for missing background colors and other oddities in appearance is the use of a high contrast theme. Please see the steps in the following article to rule that out:
Disable high contrast mode in Firefox
Sites use a couple different approaches to icons: pictures are classic, but iconic/emoji fonts are the new favorite. When an iconic font isn't displaying correctly, you'll typically see a rectangle with two rows or either two or three characters, or a completely wrong character. Is that happening?
Make sure you haven't enabled High Contrast mode in the OS settings.
Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors.
- Settings -> General -> Language and Appearance -> Colors -> Manage Colors
"Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above"
Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.
