Changed e-mail provider and now can't access old emails

I have changed web hosting provider and now have new IMAP/SMTP server details (same e-mail address "user@domain.com"). I have created a new e-mail account in Thunderbird Beta with the new details and this works fine.

However, the existing e-mail account for "user@domain.com" which is using the old IMAP/SMTP details has thousands of e-mails previously downloaded. Some of these e-mails are still readable in Thunderbird Beta but the majority now say "Go Online to View This Message" in the preview pane. I no longer have access the the old web host.

If I look in the profile directory for this account, it looks like the e-mail is there. Is there a way of copying these e-mails to the new e-mail account?

Many thanks

It "sounds like" all you have are the headers, not uncommon for IMAP accounts. Those messages are no longer available. To prevent that in the future, use the File>offline>download to ensure all message content is downloaded.
