I'm pretty sure this is a mozilla problem, and not an individual add-on problem. When I update my add-ons to newer versions, I get the "restart firefox" button, which has worked fine up until a few weeks ago. But now when I hit that, firefox restarts, but nothing updates. It just still presents me with "restart firefox". I've also restarted my computer (windows 7, if that makes any difference), and still no difference. I think I'm running the latest version of firefox too.

Try resetting the Extension Manager. With Firefox closed, rename the following files in your profile folder: extensions.cache extensions.ini extensions.rdf and compatibility.ini They'll be re-created when you open Firefox.

Note : Although unwanted files/folders can be deleted, renaming them is generally considered a safer option. This achieves the same result, but allows the user to retrieve any possibly required information from them later on. In the case above, rename the above 4 files as , 'extensionsOLD.ini', 'extensionsOLD.cache', 'extensionsOLD.rdf, 'compatibilityOLD.ini'

Making sure Firefox closed: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Kill_application Profile location: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder You may need to show hidden files to locate your profile (W2K & WinXP): http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/us.../hiddenfiles.mspx

Thanks for your reply!

I'm not entirely sure which files I'm supposed to be renaming though. When I opened my extensions folder, all I got was (uploaded photo), and both of those folders were empty, even after I showed hidden files.

Also, I have tried all of those ways to close firefox, and none of them have solved my problem.
