Can't see the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History...Help)? Hold down the key ( key in OSX) and press the following letters in this exact order: V T M The Menu Bar should now be displayed permanently, unless you turn it off again (View > Toolbars). Turning the Menu Bar on and off is a new feature in version 3.6. See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu+bar+is+missing Navigation Toolbar, Bookmarks Toolbar and other Toolbars under View > Toolbars. Clicking on one of them will place a check mark (display) or remove the check mark (not displayed). To display the Status Bar, View, then click Status bar to place a check mark (display) or remove the check mark (not displayed).

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

that worked. I wonder why they hid it? Completely insane and non-user-friendly

Easiest solution (for me): hit the little triangle to the right of the orange "Firefox" (at the top left of the window), and the new version of the menu will appear temporarily.

If you want the old menu bar back, choose Options -> Menu Bar.

Alternatively, if you use F10 to display the menu bar temporarily, and you want to make it permanent, go to View -> Toolbars -> Menu Bar.

I think the reason they removed the menu bar was to save space on small screens. But I think the default should be a visible menu bar! Or there should be a tooltip over the orange "Firefox" that tells you how to get it back! Or there should be a picture of a gear over on the right that will get you to Tools or Options or something! As things are now, when you install firefox, there's no visible way to open the hood. That doesn't train people to adjust their settings!
