Firefox 3.6.3 (for mac) keeps opening news sites of old date and cannot be renewed - even after clearing cache, cookies, etc.

I use Firefox 3.6.3 (for Mac laptop). It keeps opening some news sites from past and won't open updated sites - even after clearing cache, cookies, etc. Do you have any suggestions?
