Firefox is speedy and wonderful when first opened. After about an hour of usage, it slows down CONSIDERABLY. After a few minutes of trudging along, it then crashes and the windows Vista pop up that says "this program has stopped responding. Would you like to: Check online for a solution and then close the program. Or Close the Program." At the top of the dialogue box, it says "Firefox Plug-in container.exe has stopped responding." It's been doing this for a few months now. At first another dialogue box popped up and asked if I wanted to send the info on the crash to Mozilla. I guess Mozilla got tired of the dozens or more reports a day from my computer alone. How can I fix this? It's annoying when I am working and then have to start all over, dozens of times a day.

@Daywrenn

There are a couple of suggestions I can give you (hope this helps).

1. Download an app by the name of "Vacuum Places Improved". It cleans up Firefox's Places.sqlite like a registry cleaner - I hadn't done it in a while and mine was starting to slow down; after clicking the "vacuum places.sqlite" button located in "tools" (after downloading the app, of course), Firefox is doing much better for me.

2. If you have a lot of history memory (e.g. months and months of your browsing history), you need to delete some.

3. It could be one of your addons. If you could disclose that information to me on what addons you have on your Firefox, then I may be able to see what's slowing it down. I'll tell you right now: multiple Java applets can slow it down substantially (or at least that's what happened to me)

@David 5390 thanks for the advice The particular plug ins I have installed (besides the usual Adobe/Flash that every one needs) is Kitsune so I can type in Japanese and Ad Block Plus, which is an amazing Plug in I must add. You can email me at Daywrenn@hotmail.com if you want inst5ead of replying here. Thanks a bunch! **Edit** after checking the link about troublesome plug ins, Ad Block was the first listed. =(
