Firefox is freezing when searching in bookmarks.

When I typ the first letter of a search term a red letter x shows up. Then Firefox freezes and I have to shut the browser.

The request to tell Firefox is slightly visible behind the request of Microsoft to report to them - so I don't have a crash ID !

Next to that inability I also no longer can search in tags anymore!

As I have a lot of bookmarks - is there a limit to bookmarks and might that be the problem ?

You can try this:

Copy and Paste this code in the Code field in the "Tools > Error Console" and click the "Evaluate" button to cleanup and compress the places.sqlite database file.

Components.utils.import("resource://gre/modules/PlacesDBUtils.jsm");PlacesDBUtils.checkAndFixDatabase();

cor-el, thanks for replying !

In the Error Console I found the error-warning "resource://gre/modules/PlacesDBUtils.jsm". I copied it and placed that code. After clicking the "Evaluation"button nothing happened.

Actually I have lot's of errors like: - Warning: Error in parsing value for 'background-image'. Declaration dropped. Source File: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/761942 Line: 0

In the Error Console there are errors for 'border-radius', 'background', 'zoom', etc.

Don't know how to handle those errors and I still cannot search in bookmarks and Firefox still is freezing while trying to search.

Maybe you have other suggestions ?
