I just had an update to firefox; the next time I opened it my Norton Security-Insight flagged this plugin-I had to allow it because otherwise browser would not open. It is not listed in the plugin section of add-ons but went to program (86x)\mozilla firefox\plugin container.exe. Is this approved? Is it safe?

There are some known conflicts of Norton with Firefox files, they're false positives, for example Bug 564389 - Norton Antivirus' "Insight Network" blacklisted plugin-container.exe.

Please see what is plugin-container and let us know of any further progress on this issue.

this is helpful and reassuring-given the number of reports I am suprised that Norton Insight claims that it has only "10 prior users"

I guess I should feel fortunate that I was able to load it. Still not sure why it is not listed in FF plugin list.
