what is use of master password if after clicking cancel button you can use firefox in the same way as before ?

i hav set master password for firefox but it appears useless because after canceling it or by giving password we can use the firefox in same way as normally without master password.

The master password is not designed to prevent use of Firefox, it is designed to protect access to passwords stored in the password manager. If you do not enter the master password you will not be able to access or use the stored passwords.
