Renew/Refresh button not working - FF4rc2 on Win XP

After customizing to add a refresh button it doesn't work. Cntl-R works fine, but the pressing the refresh button doesn't do anything. It is neat that the last refresh time is displayed, but the site isn't refreshed. I haven't tried in Linux.

Does the combined Reload and Stop and Go button on the right end of the location bar work?

I am experiencing the same problem on Windows 7 and "Reload current page"/Refresh doesn't work, neither does F5 which I usually use, and Ctrl R doesn't work either. The only way I am able to refresh a page is to click in the URL address line and press enter. Firefox update was done only a few days ago and I currently have version 3.6.16

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

OK, I'd missed the reload button on the right and it works fine. The CNTL R also works fine for me, so it is just the customized button that I was having a problem with. My problem is solved. Thanks very much col-el, somehow I missed your earlier post.

I am having this problem on specific websites:

http://icanhascheezburger.com , http://www.twilighted.net , https://docs.google.com , http://www.picnik.com , http://www131.lunapic.com , http://www.photoshop.com .

Right clicking and selecting reload doesn't work either. The only way I can reload/refresh the page(s) is to click in the address bar and hit enter.

The reload button seems to work fine on the other websites I have used so far.

I just updated to Firefox 4 earlier today. I have Windows Vista. At first I was unable to locate the reload button, but was able to resolve that issue and a couple others with a different help search. However, this one, I am having trouble with.

I did what cor-el suggested in the post: "Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

   * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I tested refresh in Safe Mode and it worked. I did the safe mode Tools > Add-ons > Themes and it was STRATA. When I brought up Firefox again not in Safe Mode it works fine. Many thanks cor-el OOppss... It stopped working again, after a period of time..
