I want to revert to 3.5
I'm not happy with the new Firefox, which I think is 4.0. It's far too complicated. I just want to go back to 3.5 version. I think it's called 3.5. How do I do it?

I strongly advise against going back to Firefox 3.5, when you installed Firefox 4 it made changes to a couple of files that store user data, those files will no longer work in Firefox 3.5. If you go back to Firefox 3.5 the files containing bookmarks, history and cookies will be lost, causing you to lose all history and cookies, with bookmarks being restored from a backup.
If you want to downgrade it would be better going to Firefox 3.6.15.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6.* you can uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install Firefox 3.6.* available from http://www.mozilla.com - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

I really don't like the placement of the buttons, tabs and bars, but what I hate the most is, that unlike on the previous version, on this version does not have the drop down arrow that display a list of the recent web pages visited where you could click on any of the previous web pages visited to go back directly to that page, now instead can only go back to a previous web page by clicking the back arrow and going back one web page at a time until I'm back to the one I want to go back to. That's a real hassle and sucks big time. And I can't get it to save my passwords like before. Grrr!

I can't even open the stupid thing. I am currently browsing from IE. Yes people. IE. I can't open firefox. I can't close it without turning off my computer. I can't even access the firefox website without using IE. And there doesn't seem to be a way to get my old stuff back either. I can't find a way to download the old browser anywhere. I would really appreciate the opportunity to use my bookmarks and passwords again. I'm quite glad that I had IE as a back up on my computer. Perhaps its time to start turning my bookmarks into favorites and make IE my new browser. Doesn't look like I have a choice at this point. I've scanned my entire computer for problems, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 4.0 with the same results. Nothing more I can do. The firefox people have dropped the ball on this one.
I have to agree with everybody. What good is an upgrade if it does not enhance what you had before. Somebody did drop the ball on this one. One thing I am really missing is my weather.com that was perfect in my menu bar. I am going to stay with 4.0 and learn it a best I can and in the process hopefully you wizards will fix this terrible browser.
Sorry to ask a stupid question but how do you create a new profile within firefox? Can you email me directly at <s246@hotmail.com> as soon as possible as I am having a lot of problem with version 4. I am so frustrated.
I would like to add to the chorus of discontent. I love the new design and functionality, but did no one think to ensure it was tested THOROUGHLY with the basic plug-ins used? Since updating FF Flash is a complete mess, for many of us! I have managed to fix one problem of content not playing by adjusting the settings (the fact that this was changed to defaults without my knowledge is infuriating!) but it continuously crashes and doesn't work with such basic things as Wordpress file upload, something I NEED for business, and something which is pretty basic. I also have the joy of three FF screens opening every time I start. Why the hell has this started?
Did you guys test this at all before you released it into the wild? And if so, do you not have ANY bloggers or webmasters amongst you, are you all 50 years old and search from the address bar?
I'll be looking to go back to the previous version too, at least until you can sort out this mess. And the fact that the previous version is so hard to find makes Mozilla look like a dodgy group of people. I know it's free, and I know it is (or rather, was) good, but I would prefer to go back to the constant crashing of my previous version than put up with this.
After this experience I would rather pay for a browser that actually does what I need it to do - with stability.
I am so sorry I downloaded to the new firefox. I really wished I'd waited to hear how everyone else was handling it. I don't have the know-how to do the fix above.
I agree with everyone who hates FF4. For years we have had Microsoft shoved down our throats, followed by Yahell and Google sticking garbage into our e-mails that we never asked for. It sure looks like the customer is worth nothing! Either give us a choice of what WE want, or go back to Netscape, which I think made Firefox look like Romper Room! BTW, I still have the Firefox 3.6.15 installation file if anyone wants it. We will use what WE want whether you like it or not!
For all those looking for the 3.6.15 setup, please feel free to contact me at squafdonoboles@inbox.com Of course I cannot e-mail an exe file, but for postage costs I will mail you a CD with the file on it. Feel free to copy it and distribute it to the world. We will not be dictated to! Power to the people!
After reading quite a few postings in here, regarding countless issues with FF v4, I'm glad I kept a copy of FF v 3.5.16. I'm not overtly thrilled with certain things I was able to do, when using FF v3.5.16 . I use Photobucket daily and since upgrading to FF4, I can't get the necessary links like I was once able to. Frustration has long since settled in and I was forced to wake up my Internet Explorer, just to get my much needed image links. I was once able to fall back on previous pages, using the arrow button(s) on the browser, now I can't. More frustration. I won't return to using Explorer full time, even I.E 8 has flaws and I'm not to sure I.E 9 will be any better. So, I'll deal with FF4 shortly and dump it and return to the version that works just fine.... 3.5.16 . For the record, I'm still using Windows XP Pro.
Here's all the old versions http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/ Reverting to far back is not recommended though. Why not stck to the lastest version of Firefox 3.6.16 http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/9513/
