In previous versions of Firefox, I could go to Help and then there was a link to check for updated browser versions. In Firefox 4, that option is not listed.

This is only true for versions 3 and earlier. My question is about Version 4, which does not have a "check for updates" option.

The option to check for updates is now built into the "About Firefox" dialog in the Help menu.

On Mac OS, click on Firefox in the menu bar, then choose About Firefox. The update check should start automatically (if it doesn't, click on the "Check for Updates" button).

See Update Firefox to the latest release for more information.
