I tried to visit my company's website to download some technical files but the web page only display the tree stucture where I may find the documents I need in IE. Then I looked at the error console it showed Firefox does not recognize the following script:

TreeScr.startDownload(TreeFile, onDownloadDone)

I searched on Internet and find some old posts said it is for IE only and the post was in 2004. I wonder if the problem is solved yet since then.

I am not entirely sure what it is you are doing, surely the obvious thing to do is ask the your Company IT Department. Firefox even without add-ons will handle some simple file downloads, and in that situation will navigate within the hosts directory structure.

You Company server may only be configured to allow IE to download files, however it may be easy to reconfigure to also allow Firefox to download.
