Why doesn't Firefox 4 recognize the print command (either on the drop-down File menu or via Ctrl+P)?

Unlike FF 3.6, which printed perfectly, FF 4 does not respond to the Print command at all. When I select the Print Page option on the drop down File menu, nothing happens. Likewise, using the Ctrl+P keyboard shortcut produces the same non response.

The only options available to me for printing are to either click on the Convert to PDF icon, or highlight the text I want to print, copy it to the clipboard, paste it into a blank Word Perfect document, and print it as a .txt file, which strips out all formatting and graphics.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
