Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

• "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
• "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

• Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

• Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

i've done everything you said. i've done malware etc several times, also used housecall and they turned up nothing. i cleaned my registry. i uninstalled flash, reinstalled, uninstalled and tried an older version, if it is one of the add ons, i can't figure which one. and i haven't added anything to firefox, the only add-ons and plugins that are there are ones firefox required like flash and java and a few others. i have tried disabling the older versions of java, but cannot figure out how to uninstall them (tried javara, can't get it to work). like the op said, they used to work great in firefox til firefox updated.

i replied the suggestions didn't work, and added other things i've tried, for your information.

by the way, i have since solved the issue of facebook games not playing on firefox, but what i had to do wasn't in your suggestions, so i won't bother starting a new thread.

I reported phishing attempts while playing farmville on Face Book and they locked my account a week ago "for my protection". Pages & farm are still very active--because I receive emails about activities--it is like no one even notices I am not there anymore. Could someone have hi-jacked my sites ??? Facebook gave me a new facebook page devoid of anything and a new farm devoid of anything. I had spent lots of $$ on the orig. farm.
