text field data entry painfully slow in FF 4.0 why?

Just upgraded to FF 4.0 and data entry into any text field is slower than I type. Any idea why this occurs in 4.0 and not any other version? It is on ANY text field so chat, mail, ebay, auction sites, scial network sites, blogs, ticket booking etc. There is no discrimination. I am having to write things in a text editor then cut & paste. I am conidering dowgrading to previous FF version. Anyone else having a similar problem?

Am running SUSE LINUX, Windows vista, Windows 7 and XP on various machines & all have same problem. Have disbled all plug-ins & add-ons but problem persists.
