comcast home page favorites file gone when firefox installed, why

I installed fire fox today on my computer to help with installation of the 2007 office pro suite. When I went to my home page (comcast) my favorites drop-down box and files were missing. I can not locate it. I need to restore that set of files. How can I do that ? Do I need to un-install and re-install firefox and if I do will that affect the 2007 suite I just installed ? The instructions did not work. When I clicked on the firefox button I did not get an options selection, just a restore ect. So I still am not able to get to my favorites drop-down file. So now what ? Do I un-install and install again ?

When you click Firefox, there is a dropdown menu and on the right-side, you will see "Options".
