Firefox won't start properly. The process begins in task manager, but the program doesn't start.I have restarted the computor, and updated my plug-ins. Don't know what to do next. It will open in safe mode, but not regularly.
When we click on the icon to start firefox even though the process opens in task manager, the program screen doesn't open

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
- Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Now firefox won't even open in safe mode...
Are you using the Shift click method to start in Safe Mode? Hold down Shift key as you double click on the Firefox icon. In case there is something wrong with the short cut you could try opening from the Start Menu or the Programs list.
And, this is where I should have started, get rid of your Ask toolbar. Try Googling or the Search Firefox Help box above. I presume you are using a different computer to get here.
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
