When I type I have to hold key down for a long time for each letter

I was typing OK, I got a computer generated message about key strokes, after that I can't type normal and have to hold the key down for a couple seconds for every letter for it to come up, even the shift key and spacebar

You may have activated an accessibility feature like FilterKeys by holding down Shift too long.
