Have tried unsuccessfully to download v.3.6.7 update several times and each time "connecting to update server" never completes.

When attempting to download v.3.6.7 update: a window appears - Software Update In the window beneath the words Downloading the update... a bar shows a moving pattern beneath which are the words Connecting to the update server... However the pattern in the bar never stops moving so I assume the process has not been completed.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded
