I lost my bookmarks after the latest AUTOMATIC update.

I lost my bookmarks after the latest AUTOMATIC update. I have tried all your suggestions and I still cannot restore them. In the previous version I had a star with the drop down arrow on the lower bar that had different book marks than in the browser line. Do you have some other suggestion? This is VERY FRUSTRATING AND INCONVENIENT!!

That toolbar button has some strange behaviors in Firefox 4 and 5. If you use the Customize feature, you should be able to move it where you want it. For more information, check out this thread: the bookmark icon, which appears in upper right when the Customize Toolbar window is open, disappears when that window is shut | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help.
