Seems like since I updated to firefox 5 I can't print web pages, print preview won't work. I click on the print option under file and nothing displays or prints.

Try the Firefox SafeMode and see if you can initiate printing from within Firefox.
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)

  1. You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  2. Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Hi, I went to about:config as you suggested and my printer was listed next to print.print_printer and I did the reset anyways but it still won't print through FF. Any other ideas? I really don't want to uninstall FF as I'm sure there is no guarantee that will fix the problem.

Thanks

Un-installing and re-installing Firefox isn't going to fix anything, unless you also remove all your Firefox data and customizations and start from scratch, but that is rarely necessary to fix a problem like this.

Did you reset all the preferences for that particular printer?

No, I only did the print.print_printer reset. I guess I will need to do the rest of them, right?

Ok, I reset every printer preference that was active in about:config. I closed FF and I still can't print through FF. Print preview wont' work or open. If I click print nothing happens. The only way I can print if the page I'm on has a print option such as printing a invoice/receipt, then that print dialog box opens or responds but when trying to print a webpage it just won't do that. Should I uninstall FF? Bummer!!

Thanks for your help!!! I restarted FF with the add-ons disabled then kept on testing the printing as I setup FF again. So far so good.
