Since last night every time i try to use my Firefox it comes up with this warning: A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595

I have uninstalled and re-installed and i have tried to put the toolbar back because it also says Firefox is not able to show the toolbar. Please re-install in toolbar. I don't know if the toolbar has anything to do with the problem or not but its the only change since this problem has started and i don't recall ever deleting a toolbar to start with. I can't find anywhere where it tells me how to fix the problem or even what the real problem is.

  • Start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the SHIFT key while starting Firefox
  • As an alternative method, select "Start -> Run" and enter one of the following in the Windows Run box:
    • firefox -safe-mode
    • "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
  • Firefox Safe Mode window will open -> select Reset Toolbars and Controls and click Make Changes & Restart

Check and tell if its working.

i have done that as many times as it would let me and it doesn't change a single thing. it would be nice if i could figure out how to talk to the people that made the browser so they could tell me but i am hitting a dead end there too

That message involves the AVG toolbar that AVG installs into Firefox:

  • Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595

AVG was to have released an update in the 3rd week of July, but has now postponed the release until late August.

Your AVG protection should still working in the background to protect you against malware, but the toolba, will not work until AVG updates their product. I hope that AVG is considering the fact that Firefox 6 is scheduled for release 08/16/2011 so that they do not further frustrate and infuriate their users.
