Why does my copy of 5.0 (for Vista) insist it is up to date when there is a 5.0.1 out there?

Impossible to force an update from version 5.0 to 5.0.1 using the check for updates button in About Firefox. Makes no difference whether I have add-ons enabled or disabled when I check for updates.

Manually Download & Install Firefox 5.0.1 on top of your current Firefox installation from any of these links:

Check and tell if its working.

Firefox 5.0.1 was for Mac OSX specific issues. Windows and Linux versions didn't get or need that update.

Now, full downloads for all three platforms are labeled as 5.0.1, but that is because the way the download server works. Mac users get the updated full version , while Linux and Windows users get 5.0 that was re-labeled to 5.0.1 just for "number parity".

Not a big deal, as Firefox 6.0 is due to be released in two days, anyways.
