When I type, click to fill boxes, or click radio buttons FF 6 is lagging. Can this be corrected?

Did this problem only begin when you updated to FF6?

I'm curious if it's another version 6 bug.

Yes, it started after installing FF 6.

OK, then, thanks for letting me know.

I strongly suggest rolling back to the last FF which worked well for you. Uninstall 6 and then install your version of choice.

THEN, turn "automatic updates" OFF!

Mozilla is rushing through their updates, these days, and I wouldn't update again until you come here and find an update which is more stable.

6.0 is fraught with problems and bugs, from what I am reading here and what I have experienced.

I am taking the approach where I'm going to hope Mozilla eventually comes back to a sensible update schedule and process before it becomes a trash browser. For now, I'm happy enough with 5.x or even 3.x, which is still a good, modern browser. I don't want to incur the bugs of the new releases until things get better.

Hope this helps.

After you have disabled updates, do not click "Check for Updates" again, because that will trigger a download of an update.

Where do I find the previous versions of FF to download?

You'll find them ALL here:

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

This might just be a cache file of cookie issue. Try clearing your cache and cookies. For more info see Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox.

I have a lagging problem also and I keep my cache emptied. I have my history set to remember nothing and I keep my cookies cleared out. I use Ccleaner constantly and never had this problem until upgrading to 6.0. I still don't have a lag problem with IE8 so I believe the problem is with Firefox 6.0. I don't want to have to go back to an earlier and turn off my upgrades. I guess I'll just live with it until Firefox figures out what their problem is and resolves it. I am starting to lose confidence in what I use to think was a great browser. IE9 here I come???

@mha007; Thanks for that tip but I'm a novice with a PC. There is way too much going on in that thread for me to ever get through it without messing something up! Firefox will either come up with a fix or I'll get tired of it and go back to IE8. I don't feel like spending all that time hunting down a bug in Firefox.

Besides I've spent 8 hours trying to figure out how to make "desk cut" work and still don't have it! "Create short cut" worked just fine and it got eliminated! I'm a little disgusted with 6.0 to tell you the truth!!
                           thanks anyway.
