After installing FF 6.0.2 it said I needed a newer Adobe Flash on the main page of What's new with FF 6.0.2. When pressing the install button it automatically, and without giving me any choices installed Google Chrome which in no way did I want on my computer.

Uninstall Google Chrome from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs

=> When Downloading Plugins Update setup files, Remove Checkmark from Downloading other Optional Softwares with your Plugins (e.g. Toolbars, McAfee, Google Chrome, etc.)

BTW you have installed 3 versions of a same extension:

IF these extensions are not useful, Remove all of them OR Remove the older ones.

Uninstalling an Add-on

Check and tell if its working.

You need to read those pages carefully and de-select whatever extras are offered. With a tight economy like this, the "big guys" like Oracle and Adobe are beyond pulling stuff like that to pickup a few pennies per download for surprises.

You should have un-checked the Yes, install Google Chrome - optional ...

Thanks for your reply. I am aware of looking at these pages to uncheck any hidden checkboxes, but I didn't even notice I was redirected to adobe. It seemed to me that when I pressed to install the addon on the mozilla page there was no checkbox. Perhaps I simply didn't notice what I was doing and was on autopilot, but I don't think so. Are you sure it sent me to the adobe page you link to the-edmeister?

Thanks for the veetle advice. They are actually 3 different ones, or have 3 different names, but as I'm not broadcasting I probably only need one of them.

BTW, I know how to uninstall Chrome, though it's not as easy as it seems as it leaves things on your computer, but it seemed to me that it's the last thing FF wants when recommending a plugin.

IF you are not satisfied with the Windows Add/Remove Programs Uninstaller, you can use some other Uninstaller softwares like Revo Uninstaller (Free version or PRO version), IObit Uninstaller etc, to Completely Remove Google Chrome.

Revo Uninstaller

IObit Uninstaller 2 Freeware

Use these software to Uninstall Google Chrome, Scan for leftover files after the Uninstallation and then Delete all leftover files identified as associated files.

Check and tell if its working.
