I cannot see anything I download after it has finished. The Download box becomes empty and I have to go to my desktop "Downloads" to run it.

When I download an app from the web the download works fine but when completed, the Download box empties and I cannot see what I just downloaded. I have to open my desktop, "Downloads" to open the download to run the app. Before I updated to 6.0.2 I was able to run the app from the Firefox Download box. This is very annoying.

Try going to Tools > Options > click on the Privacy tab in the options box. In the History section, set Firefox will: use custom settings for history. Make sure the 'remember download history' option is checked.
