when uploading a photo, scrolling thru files, the cursor will not stop. It zooms from beginning to end, left to right. How to fix?

In an email I click the "paper clip" to upload a photo. I get to "My documents" and try to scroll through to find the specific photo to upload. When I start scrolling, the cursor rapidly zooms from left to right, so quickly I can't make it stop. I therefore cannot find the photo I wish to upload. How can I fix this?

Did you try to close and reopen Firefox or reboot the computer?

Yes, I closed and opened and rebooted... still does it.
