I am on version 7.0.1 and the status bar along the bottom only appears when it is doing something, and even then it abbreviates certain links if they are longer than the status bar.

this isn't terribly useful when programming. I am sure you use to be able to get an Addon to put the whole thing back.

Can someone tell me where it is please.

Are you using the Status-4-Evar extension to show the Status bar or do you mean the pop-up that replaces the status bar that appears to show messages?

Bingo - that was the answer: Status-4-Evar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

I didn't have that, and need it to see the full URL of a link.
